2. Information Collection and Usage

Blurify operates locally on your device. We DO NOT collect, store, sell, or transmit any personal data, browsing history, form inputs, or content from the websites you visit.

  • Local Storage: All user preferences, custom blur rules, and settings are stored locally on your device using Chrome’s secure chrome.storage.sync API.
  • No Third-Party Analytics: We do not use any third-party tracking, telemetry, or analytics scripts.

3. License Key Verification

If you purchase a Pro License via Polar.sh, the extension sends your entered license key to Polar.sh’s official API (https://api.polar.sh) strictly to validate license key authenticity. No personal website content or browsing activity is sent during this process.

4. Permissions Disclosure

  • <all_urls>: Required to apply visual blur filters on user-selected elements across web pages.
  • storage: Required to save user settings and custom blur rules locally.
  • activeTab & scripting: Required for the interactive element picker tool.
  • contextMenus: Required to offer right-click shortcut options to blur elements.
